Municipal Police Judge

The Town of Nutter Fort is fortunate enough to have a Municipal Police Judge on staff.  Judge James K. "Jim" Terango listens and rules judgement of municipal citations that are contested in Police Court.  Jim was appointed Municipal Judge for the Town in 2011.

Jim has been a Certified West Virginia Municipal judge since 2001.  He also presently serves in the same capacity with the Town of Anmoore since 2001.

Jim previously served the City of Stonewood as Municipal Judge for eight (8) years and was also a special appointed Municipal Judge for the Town of West Milford and the City of Shinnston.

Along with Jim's many years as a Municipal Judge for several municipalities, he served the West Virginia Division of Juvenile Services as the Internal Magistrate for four (4) years and previously served Harrison County as Magistrate and Chief Magistrate for six (6) years.

Police Court is held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month in Town Council Chambers at 6:00 PM.  If you wish to contest a citation, please call Police Chief Ronald Godwin to set up an appointment at 304-622-7713.
